Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information sodcalculator.org ("we", "us", "our") collects, how we use and protect it, the third-party services we rely on, how cookies are used, and the rights and choices you have. By using this site you agree to the practices described here.
What information we collect
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for personal details such as your name or address to use the calculators. The information involved falls into three categories:
1. Information you enter into tools
The measurements, prices and options you type into a calculator (for example lawn dimensions or a price per pallet) are processed in your browser to produce results. When you choose to save a result, it is stored locally on your own device — see “How your data is stored and protected” below.
2. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, when you visit we and our service providers may automatically receive certain technical information, including:
- Your IP address (used to deliver the site, for security, and in approximate, non-identifying form for analytics such as country or region).
- Browser and device information — browser type and version, operating system, screen size and language.
- Usage data — which pages you visit, which tools you use, referring pages, and time spent, in aggregate.
3. Information from cookies and similar technologies
We and our partners use cookies and local storage to run analytics, serve advertising, and remember your saved calculations. See the cookie section below for the specific types.
How we use information
We use the information above to operate and secure the site, understand which tools are popular so we can improve them, display advertising that helps keep the site free, and remember your preferences and saved results on your device. We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
To provide and support the site we rely on trusted third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google Analytics — measures site traffic and usage in aggregate to help us improve. It may set cookies and process your IP address and usage data. See Google's Privacy Policy and “How Google uses information from sites that use its services.”
- Google AdSense — may display advertising on the site. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and device identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. You can control ad personalization in your Google Account's Ads Settings.
- Map and geocoding providers — our map measuring tool loads satellite and street map imagery and address search from third-party map services. When you use that tool, requests (including the address or area you search) are handled by those providers under their own policies.
Cookies and the types we use
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use, or allow our partners to use, the following categories:
| Type | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Basic site operation and remembering that you dismissed the cookie notice | Cookie-consent flag |
| Analytics cookies | Measure visits and usage so we can improve the tools; data is aggregated | Google Analytics |
| Advertising cookies | Serve and measure ads and, where permitted, personalize them | Google AdSense and partners |
You can accept or manage cookies through the notice on the site and through your browser settings. Disabling analytics or advertising cookies will not stop the calculators from working.
How your data is stored and protected
The results you choose to save are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device — they are not transmitted to or held on our servers, and clearing your browser data removes them. Traffic to the site is served over encrypted HTTPS connections. Automatically collected analytics and advertising data is held by the respective providers (such as Google) on their secure infrastructure under their retention policies, not in a personal database we maintain. Because we don't collect account or contact information, there is no store of personal profiles to breach on our side.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, and regardless of location you have practical controls here:
- Clear your saved data at any time using the “clear history” control in any tool, or by clearing your browser's storage — this erases everything we hold about you on your device.
- Control cookies through the on-site notice and your browser settings, including blocking or deleting analytics and advertising cookies.
- Opt out of personalized ads via your Google Account Ads Settings and industry tools such as the ad-choices/opt-out pages.
- Access, correct or delete — for any data held by our third-party providers, you may exercise rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA directly with them, or contact us and we will help direct your request.
- Do Not Track — you can enable your browser's Do Not Track signal; we do not use tracking that follows you across other websites ourselves.
Children's privacy
Our site is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will address it.
International visitors
The site may be accessed from around the world, and our service providers may process data in other countries. By using the site you understand that automatically collected data may be handled in accordance with the policies of those providers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision, and continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
